FAQ
You get a one-hour phone consultation for free. You can also sign up for as many as 4 additional a la carte units and later apply what you’ve spent for them to any of these packages: Start-up, Book Proposal, or the Whole Shebang. This gives you up to three hours of contact with me before committing to a package.
Pre-paid service are good for 18 months from the date of purchase.
The bad news: Pre-paid packages are non-refundable. You get a big discount for assuming this risk and for saving me the hassle of billing you in dribs and drabs.
The good news: Prepaid packages are non-refundable. If you get discouraged or busy and feel like giving up, having already paid for coaching is a good incentive to soldier on.
Your best bet is to pay for the Start-up Package first. Its cost can be subtracted from the amount due for the Whole Shebang. |

| Coaching time is sold in contact units. While each unit represents approximately ½ hour of my time, I've standardized the cost of basic services so that you will know what to expect, and we don't have to count minutes. |

For non-fiction projects, most agents and publishers would rather see a proposal than a completed manuscript.
A proposal consists of these components:
- Brief (i.e. under one page) synopsis. (Agents and/or publishers will decide whether to read further on the basis of this page, so it has to be superb.)
- Overview (3-5 pages)—a more extended summary of the book.
- Marketing discussion--describes target audience, competing titles, and outlines what you will do to help promote the book.
- Author bio (1-2 pages)
- Chapter outline (1-2 paragraph description of each chapter)
- 1-3 sample chapters
I write the synopsis and the author bio for you. You write the other sections, with plenty of advice and feedback from me as you go along. After all sections are completed, I review the entire proposal, give it a final polish and show you how to format it for submission.
Cost: $1800
($1000 if you've already purchased the Book Start-up Package, which is included in this one.)
